I was screwing around with the 300 4.0, waiting for the hummingbird to come back when I captured these. I wish I had left my 1.4 tc on to get closer, but its done. Quality is not great, but the moment is captured.

The male blue bird on the right, spent all day trying to catch the bug in his mouth. The female was on the far side of the yard and quickly flew over and started shaking her wings and giving him the big bird eyes. You can see the bug in his mouth.

He realizes that he better give up the bug or things will not be good for him.

She played him right and she hops over to get her meal.

Its a big bug and he's starting to have second thoughts... she takes the bug from his mouth.

The bug is quickly eaten while the male looks on... seemingly saddened by the loss of his meal.

Have you ever seen a bird looking so sad?

He's thinking, 'Okay, nobody saw this.' And then he looks over and sees me with the big honking lens taking his pics. She took off after the shot.
