Shot my first bees this morning... actually, my first bee (singular). This little guy was a great subject. Let me know what you think.

Nice pictures, I like the detail in the eye on #2. All the bees (all 1000 of them) stopped hanging out in my yard cause all the flowers that were pollenating on the trees are dead now, sign that spring is getting old. I did find a dead bee in my drive way, same kind of bee that you have here, even though its dead I'm going to photograph it anyways for practicing focus and composition.

I just noticed your new here, welcome to the forums! If you dont know already, this place is an AWESOME place to learn and meet new people with the same interests as you (PHOTOGRAPHY!). I was completely noob when I came here though, judging by your pictures your pretty good already, but everyone would agree photography is a never-ending learning experience. I hope to see some more of your pictures!

Welcome
Nice work, look like the bee is hanging on to stop from sliding down the flower!

Haha, yes, it was a huge bee and very small flowers. In shots one and three, you can see that the stalks were bending over when he landed on them. In fact, a few of the stalks bent over to the point that the bee was laying on his back on the ground, clinging to the flower. It was pretty amusing to watch.

Natural light. It was around noon with a clear sky, in a small clearing in the woods.
