Here are the rest of my shots from my saturday afternoon hike around Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve.
(All shots with a canon 20D and canon 400mm f5.6, handheld. Post processing with Photoshop CS2 and Neat Image. Exif data intact.)
1) I took this shot of the black necked stilt from a bridge. Sometimes a 400 prime is just too much reach. I never thought I would ever say that when it comes to birding photography LOL. I couldn't back up enough to get his foot in the shot. Ah well.
2) "Hey any of you guys see my watch down there?"
3) A marbled godwit - "Oh mud for dinner! YUM!"
4) An eared grebe.
5) A cormorant looking a bit roughed up.
6) A white tailed kite. I wish the image quality was better on this shot. It is a special occassion when I run into these guys. It is an even more rare occassion when I can get close enough to fire off some shots. Ah well. There is always the next time...
Thanks for looking. C&C always welcome and appreciated.

...BTW, are you sure pic#3 is a Marbled Godwit?? To me, this bird looks more like a Dowitcher, but I am not an expert on shorebirds.,
