Thanks Gary and Sindri. We have him under surveillance, but he hasn't returned to the scene of the crime yet. :)

Wow. That worm never stood a chance. Neat timing and capture!

Thanks Hung. No, poor old Willie never had a chance. Of course, he doesn't have a spine and he can't run, so...

Thanks Downy. I don't know where these little stories come from. They just seem to pop into my head as I'm taking the pictures. It's so bad that sometimes I even laugh at my own jokes. :D

Thanks Joayne. Yeah, old Cock Robin tossed Willi around like a rag worm. Never seen a bird do that before. :D

Thanks Michele. I got to admit, I love the little birdies excessively and have a lot of fun with them. :)

Interesting shots and funny narrative. The robin I saw was also beating the worm sensless against the branch he was on. I was interested to see what he did next, but he just sat there for what seemed about a half hour with the worm in his mouth and I gave up looking.

Regards, Rich

Thanks Rich. I have since seen this and very similar behaviour several times by this same robin. He pulls the worm out of the ground, then acts like it's a poisonous snake and is afraid to go near it. Sometimes he'll just watch it for minutes. :)
