Thanks for the info on the airshow. I've never seen one, except old World War 1 fighters in Rhinebeck, N.Y. years ago.

I may go to that on Saturday.

Mark- Can you post some pictures from last year to give us an idea of what to expect?

Here's a brief example of what you can see there and how close you can actually get.

Both what, photogurl's wedding and this event? ;)

Photogurl, unless you're the one getting married, this will be way more fun.

Rich, I can never make up my own mind when it comes to what to bring.

Last year I had my 70-200, my 85L and my 100-400. The main reason I brought the 100-400 is I was meeting two other forum members and they wanted to try out my lenses.

Not sure if I'll bring my 300 or not. If it's a sunny day, the 100-400 will do fine, though a lot of the birds are under a tent (with no walls) and so are in dark shade.

Parking is about a one to two minute walk, so I may just bring it all in my backpack and go back and forth to the car if need be.

Sorry I coudn't be of more help.

I'll have to talk to my husband about this. Sounds like fun! Not too far from home either. Do you know how much admission is?

I'm guessing ten or fifteen dollars, but it is a charity that helps underpriviledged and learning disabled children. It is actually a school with a working farm.

I'm 90% sure I'm going!

I want to order a 70-200 lens for the trip. Debating over the f/4 & f/2.8. Either will be the IS version. Been looking at the previous posts as to not ask the same question again!

Hello Everyone.
This is my first post in this fine forum, i have been lurking for some time. I currently have a 300D dedicated to IR, a 350D that i got new from wal*mart for only $190 due to a pricing error and a fabulous MK3 on order:D . I live in New Windsor NY which is nestled right in the Hudson Valley, im about 10 minutes from West Point, if even 10. I saw this thread and i am all over it. I would love to meet other photography enthusiast and pros at the event in Brewster. I will be there. My name is John btw. The only thing that bothers me is that it is mainly birds of prey we will be shooting so i know we will need some decent super zooms or teles and the only tele i have at the moment after spending BANK on a MK3 is a 75-300mm f/4-5.6  , will it be enough to get some good shots? Unlike some of the ones posted in here already which i am more then certain they were taken with a L (lovely) series lens. i also have the 18-55mm, and the "Nifty Fifty" 1.8 prime. Im only about 30 or so minutes from Brewster, and i work the 4am-1pm shift, so ill just get out early around 9am or so and meet you guys over there. Looking forward to it, and hopefully i will get some replies and insight on all of this. Good day all.

~John N.

Mark, not sure if I can make it. My son has a baseball clinic that day. If for some reason it gets canceled, I'll be there with my son.
