chopping tops of heads

when I print the picture it isn't exactly what i see on screen it is cutting tops of the heads of.

What should I do diffrent?

My guess is that you're printing to a different aspect ratio than the actual image. In other words, your printing a 2x3 aspect ratio shot (normal aspect ratio from your camera) at 5x7 or 8x10, and the printer is cropping as it sees fit for that size.

Open the image in PS, select the crop tool, and put in the height and width you're looking for in inches. Leave the resolution field empty.

Select your crop. you can move it around until you like what yo see, and then save it in that aspect ratio. As long as yo print to the same size at which you cropped, everything should be A-OK!


Upside the head...A place where nothing good ever happens.

i"m using cs2 and printing on hp. I used the crop tool to get my print size. when I go to print it always tells me that he print is larger than paper size which is bull. I just can't figure it out.

So print "Fit to Page". Or reset the dpi to image side dimension in pixels divided by print side dimension in inches.
