I shoot a lot of football in the fall and am wondering what kind of rain cover to get for my 20D (or 40D if it ever comes out). I don't want to shoot any more games from the covered area above press box. Those pictures don't sell nearly as well.

Can anyone recommend a good rain cover?

Hey Ralph...there is another thread running with the same question. I use a Tall Kitchen bag with a hole for the lens. Snap a good rubber band around the lens and you are home free. Cheap and it works.

A 40D, a 30D, some nice glass and a great Shooting Partner.

Another vote for Storm Jacket. But I carry a garbage bag or two and some rubber bands...just in case.

I use Storm Jackets too. The garbage bag and rubber bands will work in a pinch.

So with the storm jacket, the front of you lens is still exposed, and if you choose, the front of the flash is still exposed?

I've seen some covers that have a thin film that goes over the front of the lens. Does that matter? All L-Series Lenses are water resistant, right?

In a fairly heavy downpour in Iceland I did discover that taking off a hiking gaiter from your boot and zipping it over the lens works reasonably well. Of course water then gets in your boot, which is not so good.

I learn stuff here when I least expect to at times. It never rains here why read this thread? I found out about Storm Jacket. I have been trying to come up with something a little better than a big ziploc and a rubber band to keep some of the dust off my camera when shooting desert races.

Mine came yesterday. The med. jacket fits nice on 30d/grip and 24-105. I don't expect it to be dust "proof", just reduce the poundage some. I think its going to be great.

Edit: Fits the 70-200 f4 fine as well.

My local dealer stocks the E-690 which will take a 30D plus a small zoom lens such as the Canon 10/22 or my Tokina 12/24.

There are also longer sleeves for bigger teles and zooms.

i have the lens cover http://www.wildlifewatchingsupplies.co.uk/lens.htm (external link) and body cover, however with the body cover it wasnt big enough, i emailed kevin the owner and he has been a great help and is making me a larger one (almost double in size) so i can get my head under and keep the body covered, great product.

I use the Kata E-702 for both my 5D and 20D (ungripped).
