At the Bath

Bird bath that is. It always surprises me how quickly birds find our bird bath. I managed to get a quick shot of this male Goldfinch as he turned to leave. Unfortunately he's still changing into his breeding plumage. I'm not thrilled with the perch but I do like the background.

Bigma on tripod. Shot cropped to about 40% of full frame. I wish that I hadn't forgotten my extension tubes upstairs!

Now, that's a nice close-up of the Goldfinch. Nice exposure, detail and head turn.

It's amazing how brilliantly the yellow contrasts with the black on the bird itself. You managed to capture this one against a solid black background that amplifies that contrast even more dramatically. Very well done!
