Bought a 20D used more then 16 months ago and I just noticed that it has the sellers name embeded into the images. How do I change this on my camera so it doesnt happen anymore?

I was not aware I could enter any personal info into my camera and I would like to change this to my info if I could, anyone know what I am talking about?

Problem Solved. Thanks.

You need to connect the camera to your PC and use the Canon software that comes with the camera (sorry -- forget exactly which one - I'll see if I can find it) to change the owner name info.

Use the EOS Utility Program (should have come with the camera) to change the owner name.

Thank you. Problem solved. And to top it off I automatically updated the time on the other 20D I have also, from Chicago time to Edmonton time.

Even though this was found using the EOS 30D and EOS Utility software that was included with my EOS 30D, Im sure its very close to being the same with the EOS 20D.

But for any new comers like myself, adjusting the name setting is found in the EOS Utility, then "Camera Settings / Remote Shooting, then click on the "Tools" icon in the lower right corner and a drop down box will appear with "Owners Name".

It was kind of hard to find this at first, so I though someone else might find this added information helpful.

Doug

That's the very first thing I do when I get a new body.

Don't just put your name - put "Image copyright CJM"

people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional
Full frame and some primes.

You know the strange thing. I bought a 1DMKII recently, with the sellers name in it and the software that came with it says something stupid like "Software does not recognize camera" Argh!

Cosworth - I have been meaning to put my name in my camera and did just that. I took your advise and wrote Image Copyright before my name.

cjm - You may have to dowload the upgraded driver from Canon usa. I have a 30D I purchased new in October and I just downloaded the driver because the EOS utility wouldn't work until I download this current driver.

You need to conect it via FireWire, not USB for that.
