Excellent work, as always, Gary. You''ve done right by these beautiful subjects. The pair shots are very nice.

Congrats on reaching 7000!

7000!?!?! And I thought I spent a fair amount of time here...

Great subject to commemorate the achievment. The last two being my favorites here, especially the barbwired shot.

I love these birds and your shots, Gary :) Their colors never seize to amaze me. When I posted my western bluebird earlier this week I was afraid that people might think I tinkered with the saturation. I didn't and I'm glad to see that yours are just as vibrant.

Love the clear BG in these shots :)

Thanks Bea and as you already know, when the light hits these birds the right way, especially the male, the colors are extrmely vibrant. The BG is just a field and woods and I was pretty excited about the background while taking the shots as it seemed to be a wonderful backdrop.

clivingstonCongrats on the 7000 posts. What a stunning series of shots . Do you ever get a bad shot ?

Thanks Chris and on a good day 25 % of the shots are what I am looking for, 25% need some work and the rest will eventually find themselves deleted or ignored. I don't want to talk about the bad days;)

And also thanks to Joe, Wayne, Dan, Mark, Dennis, winkie, Reyno band wlaramie for your kind words:D

and the lens makes an unnatural clunking sound on AF with the pins taped

Yup, noticed the smae thing with my 400L. I tried it twice, it wasn't worth the tape and I had no intention of ruining the USM motor cause I was too lazy to manual focus. ;)
