Just a quick FYI to Mac users considering a HiTi photo printer. Their Mac support is Beta quality at best. I've had a couple issues with my printer you might like to know about.
- Driver installation. Worked well on one of my Macs, the other not at all. I eventually got it to work, by manually copying all the configuration files from the mac that installed easily.
- Print Server support. I wanted to hang my printer off my LinkSys printer server. No Go, it wasn't recognized. Took me a week dealing with Cust service to find out they only have one printer server known to work, and with Windows only. No Mac Print Server support.
- 6x8 printing is NoGo via Mac. They print, but the 3 color passes are miss-aligned by approx 1mm(not even close). I've been back and forth with Cust support for over 2 weeks. Trying things, sending them scans of my prints.... and finally they say it's a known Mac Driver issue. So, no 6x8 prints unless I copy my finished files to a memory card as JPG, and print manually. 4x6 & 5x7 work well most of the time.
They say new drivers are on the way, but that's the same story I got when reporting the install issues, a couple months ago. No ETA on the drivers.
