For those of you who own Pelicans, do you use it strictly for storing/transporting your gear on planes, etc. or do you also use it to work out of?

I haven't quite figured out whether I would be best served by the Domke, the Pelican, or both (and when to use the Pelican).

I would only use a Pelican for transportation. I have a Domke and love it.

By transportation are you referring exclusively to air/boat transit?

If I were to go anywhere by automobile to shoot a land based event (sporting/wedding/etc.) then are you suggesting don't use the Pelican at all?

Why wouldn't I want to used the Domke as an airplane carry on vs. the Pelican. I can easily see the benefit if I had to check the bag but one of the selling features of this particular Pelican is for airport carry on.

My most-used gear lives in the F-1x. My Pelican case lives (empty) on a shelf in the closet where our suitcases are stored until I actually need it.
