I took this photo sometime around the summer of 2006. I guess I didn't like it back then because I never edited it. Should I throw it back in the lost files?

Hey man, no it's not Layne. It's a friend of Tom Rezvan, but I don't remember his name. I think he's unsponsored...riding on someone else's board.

Nice! I'd keep it. I'll get back to you about the bikes.

That's a classic layback, might as well keep it unless you've got a better layback shot?

Just as a sidenote... I have trouble deciding which shots to keep when shooting surfing, I end up with so many barrel or top turn shots that are good, not great but are all pretty similar. So I've started trying to only keep the really good ones. What do you think, and what generally constitutes a keeper for you?

Your saying he managed to get back up straight after laying back that much??

That's a big problem I have...so many shots look the same. I just look for something special about the image. If it doesn't make me smile for getting the shot, I probably won't keep it. Well, I keep them all and look at them a few months later (like this one).

Also, what constitutes a keeper depends on who the surfer is. Any photo of me is a keeper because I never get any. However, if it's Kelly Slater doing a floater on a chest high wave, it's garbage because it doesn't show his skill and nobody will want to use it for anything.
