Useful also for providing highlights on glass or metal. Rather than using a big softbox and having to use flags to 'shape' the light into a thinner strip.

Hi awad,

Can you post a link to show me what you got? I'm curious to see what they look like.

Very interesting. Is there any way to control the spread along the long side? Any aperture control or adjustable internals?

no adjustable internals, there are masks and grids to use.

Hi awad,

You use AB strobes right? Don't you need an AB speedring to attach that strip softbox to your strobe?

i have a couple extra AB speedrings, but you can also dremel the speedring that comes with it to fit. the universal speedring fits, but the claws just dig into the metal, and thats all that holds it on.

Hey Awad,
I have one and i like it a lot! I use it with the egg crate grid and can get some really good light out of it. I shot Kenny Snyder with it just tonight.

I have an Amvona strip box. No grid though. Used it as a main for a local girl once.

Hey CDI,

Do you use it for a hair light or side lighting at all?

I've only used it as a main so far since my other lights are a rather hokie combination of Sunpak 383 and 580EX. They're generally shooting through umbrellas or bare. I don't have speedring adapters for those, so the only thing that a softbox can go on is the B1600. And my triggering is such that placement options are limited.
