So I have decided that I am ready to buy a tablet. I will be getting a Wacom without a doubt. I have never used a tablet before so I have no reference point. I have narrowed it down to two choices;

Intous3 6x8
Graphire4 6x8

I can get the Graphire4 for at least 100.00 bucks less than the Intous3. So my question is;

Will the Graphire4 with 512 pressure levels at a 100.00 bucks less be that much less capable? Is it worth another 100.00 dollars to double the pressure steps? I dont think I really care that much about the extra buttons so in my mind the 100.00 is really only to double the pressure steps.

Any input from those of you that have used one or both of these tablets would be great.

Thanks in advance for responding to my questions.

Graphire4 works great for me (i use the 4x5)... extra sensitivity not worth it for me... I've heard sensitiviy is needed more if you are a graphic artist who will actually be using it for drawing or painting.

Thanks for the response. I was begining to think I wouldnt get one. I guess that kind of answers my question then. I am planning on using it to do smudge painting and hopefully branch out from there. Guess I better get the Intous3

I have used a Graphire 6x8 for 5yrs and its been great , but , there is always a but :) I will be getting an intuos3 soon , I tried a friends and the shortcut buttons and the finer sensitivity is worth it for me , I noticed the sensitivity straight away when airbrush painting and fine line work .
