IQ on my 500 + 1.4 at 5.6 is excellent. Don't expect to MK III to do any wonders but it is going to help, that's for sure. Make sure to pick up a 2X TC when you get that MK III. The Canon TC's should be the best for you. I'm hoping to get my MK III next week but it's all rumors.

No doubt I will get the 2x with my MarkIII. I will look foreward to see the pictures from yours. I'm expecting mine around 6/20/07. As far as f5.6 I rarely shoot at that short of DOF.
