Great series Mitch . I wish these guys would come closer to the ground so I would not need the hubble to get a good shot.

Chris, tell me about it. This guy was virtually overhead, not that high, but I was in the car and afraid to get out or it would drive him away. And he did not stop moving. He was going from twig branch to twig branch searching for bugs on the leaves. He was gone in maybe two minutes.

I'd love to just SEE one of these, at any altitude. Nice series...

Thanks VI. You don't have these down there? I would think they'd hit there before making it up here. But this guy wasn't that high today, maybe 15 feet or so and he could see me and hear the camera and ignored it. I have read they are approachable. I guess that's true.

Good catches Mitch! Interesting to see him eating those flower buds. They are fairly approachable, but usually cloaked in leaves or way up there as was already said.

There are folks around here who have posted shots of them, but I've never seen one in my life.

Thanks Scott and Sindri. They are beauties and I was holding my breath almost the whole time. Couldn't believe it after looking for them for a month.

Very Beautiful bird, I am envious, i have never seen one... You might consider putting out grape jelly and orange halves, they might come to your feeders.
