A very dull day today so had to shoot totally manual with flash upped a third. Fairly happy with this shot but it was holding the abdomen inward so even at f14 I couldn't get it all sharp - really couldn't take it any higher it was extremely overcast! It's a freshly emerged individual and the thorax isn't fully plumped out but still makes for an ok shot?

doh seem to have lost the exif - 30D, Sigma 150mm macro, manual, 400 ISO, shuter speed 200, F/14, 430ex Speedlite TTL +1/3

Tricky shot. I think you've pulled it off alright though.

Nice shot, the wings are getting a little lost in the background unfortunately but hey that only a minor point on a great catch.

Thanks everyone - tricky with the wings at this early stage in it's life they're not fully pumped so the black veins don't show so well and the background didn't help but that's something to look out for the next time.
