very nice shot. Think a crop to put it on centre, that's just the way i like things. Well done.

I agree, centre the staemen and remove some of the open space around it, that will improve the shot no end.

Nice colours though and decent focus on the centre.

Nice shot! Will gladly see some more of your work; you're on the right track, but as Linda and Brian said you need to experiment more with composition.

I will try to play around with it later. I thought the photo was less interesting when it was centered. ( Not this one per se but any photo.)

Thanks all for the comments. I continue to learn by all of your great input.

It's not good composition to center everything. It works in some cases, but generally, you don't want to center your subjects. (I'm not speaking macro-specific, just photography in general). Despite this, there is too much dead space in the photo, so I agree that some cropping is needed.

Its a nice shot, I think if you crop out that dead space, it will bring the subject out alot more, and all that red wont seem so bad. With all the dead space filled with red, it kinda of messes with the eyes a tiny bit. You dont need to center it 100%, try cropping just a bit after the yellow part of the flower, right before the out of focus glare. I'm thinking that would work well. If you decide to crop it, post it up so we can see the new one.

Ok I cropped it a little- is this what you meant or is there still to much dead space?

Nice job, just the right amount of dead space, and it keeps the subject uncentered. Good job.
