Beautiful shots. The third is cool.

Just curious. Ever fish for Walleye in Georgian Bay? Some of the biggest anywhere have been caught there.

Small mouth bass,, Northern Pike and walleye... there is a river just about 45 minute up the coast.. the Musquash.. thats where the walleye.. dozens of them... if you find the right spot (just under the falls... no point keeping the secrets anymore.. I can never go back without really hurting myself :( )

The Musquash is also home to some extrmely sizeable and scary looking gar pike

I had a school of them swim right past.. and I meen inches from my legs.. while i was standing up river of the rapids.. I nearly altered the color of the water when 8 or so of those toothed beasts swam by! I think I was about 12...

I see 4.

Then again, it's almost noon, so maybe I should stop drinking....

CDS

Composition, light, colors and interest are "tops" in both these images.

You are getting soooooooooooo goooodddddddddd! You are moving --> -- > forward at a fast clip!

I especially like the 2nd shot as the wors are filled with little guys that fade into the greenery. That patch of blue is a great touch too.

Thanks PacAce..

The third shot Mills referred to is the second shot above...
I removed the 2nd image as I did not feel it fit..

The tern.. well it's a bit of a miracle.. I loved the tern's "hover" it was one of a few.. clearly the most dramatic. But the shot was horrifically underexposed.. (they all were in that group.. still working out the kinks of the MkII.. specifically with metering... :( ) and it was a grey dull rainy day..

...so that image is the result of a LOT of post processing with dual exposure compensation tiff layers made from a single raw file.. etc..

Jerry and Howie.. thanks so much,

The second shot above (Mill's third) required virtually NO post processing.. a little crop (not as much as you'd think) and I think some MINOR levels and sharpening.. but really.. those were done more out of habit, as I am finding that when I get the exposure spot on.. the MkII requires very little.. a lot less tweeking tha the 10D anyway.

Both shots were with the 70-200mm @ 200mm from memory the Finch was f/2.8 (looks it too! :) ) can't remeber with the tern....

Love those CDS. The composition is excellent especially with that Caspian tern thingy!

CDS,

Great photos. The 2nd one is simply beautiful.
Achiving that composition was also great timming. The bird looking in the direction of the twig adds to the shot.
