I have always called these barn swallows, but am I correct? This is my first attempt at photographing them. They are quick, erratic little things!!!!

I think Cliff also.... very industrious of you to attempt in-flight swallow shots!!!

Those are good captures of those feathery bullets.
Those do not look like barn swallows, though.
This is a barn swallow in flight, I hope you will not mind me posting this image....
(I also need no comments on it to take away from your images, I know how long it has taken me to start getting images like that.;) )

Definitely a cliff swallow. You can id them easier by seeing the buff colored rump and squared off tail than by seeing the white on the forehead as they zoom past. I *think* the cave swallow is one of the only other swallows with a lighter colored rump. Nice picture. I love watching the swallows.

A barn swallow has a deeply forked tail. I agree with the other posters.

Well done! Swallows are extremely difficult to capture. As Petkal said, they're bullets!

My vote is the cliff swallow-- buffy rump and white crown. Good in-flights of these speedy flyers!
