Ok, B+W shots from Thailand, taken about 6-7 months ago. Yes, I have a thing for black and white. Let me know what you think

Great shots! I especially like the four first in B&W. They look very interesting and I like the compositions. Thanks for sharing!

I'm voting for #3 - not sure how it would look in colour but certainly excellant in B&W
#1 left me wondering how easy it would be to clone out everything in the background above the horizon.

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Thanks mate, yeah I thought about leaving it in colour, but the shirt was a bit distracting, and the towel under his foot also distracted from the carving. Wow, they put a lot of work into their carvings!

All great shots.

I like the way in the second shot, that the pattern under the water sort of disappears into the small waves on the water. Very cool.

Thanks! It was just spur of the moment, I thought it would be cool if I could get some blur on his hands to show what he was doing, but wanted to preserve sharpness everywhere else. It's nice when plans actually come off!

i like the carver best, good 'work' shot; the girl sitting is a little soft and the book is blown out, and the raft one is cool but the man is too centered

You're right, she is a bit soft, I actually missed that shot, she just looked up and smiled, there were about 20 other people in a shop the size of a large bedroom and I had a split second where there were no other people in the frame.

Her shot is still 'under construction' really, I should go back and tone down those highlights. But I'm not sure I can be bothered ;)

The raft one, if you look closely, you can see another rafter in the exact same pose, between his legs, I couldn't get any angle on it without cutting the other rafter out, but I think I see what you mean, thanks for the tip.

Thanks, it seems to be the most popular, it was nice that it actually went off according to plan.
