Beautiful shot snoop99.

I just wanted to say hello from Chesapeake, VA. I post in the local thread for this area but there isn't as much activity plus I'm hoping to be making some trips up to NoVA in the near future. I also sometimes visit the Bethesda, MD area.

Anyways, my name is Brian and I've been shooting off and on since '06 with little to no progression in my images so I had a tendancy to put the camera down. Within the last year I've become more serious and started investing the time to learn to improve and I have noticed an improvement.

I hope I can post in here without any issues. I'm going to spend some time going back through the thread to see what's been going on! Merry belated Christmas to you all. I hope everyone had a wonderful day.

Love the shots of the new panda! Is this just zoomed in froma viewing area or do you get special access?

Browsed through your flickr too - I love the twilight shots from around DC. It provides some motivation to hop around DC more often to take photos.

Taken at 200mm behind the glass about 8 feet away. Best time to shoot bao bao is Tuesday and Friday morning at 8am when she gets weighed.

Did anyone happen to get any shots of the Snowy Owl that was spotted in DC this week?

Lol! You'd swear they were, given some of the weather we've had. ;)

Need Parking Help in DC

I would like to arrive in DC from the Richmond area at about 4 AM to shoot from the tidal basin the reflection of the DC Monument and Jefferson Memorial then the Marine Iwo Jima Memorial. Then head to the "Wall" for a sunrise shot then quickly to the WWII Memorial for a remaining sunrise there. This would be a Saturday night run so I could avoid traffic and the crowds. It's easy to find these places on Google maps but I'm not seeing parking.
So can I park on Ohio Dr SW for the basin shot and Constitutional Ave for the Vietnam Memorial shot and 17th St for the WWII Memorial? Got the Iwo location figured out.
Thanks for any help or advice,
Whisle

1. Take 395 to East Potomac exit 2

2. Use Google maps to go to

National Capital Region, Ohio Drive Southwest, Washington, DC

3. Once you pass the park police headquarters there are two parking lots on the right

Thanks, I hope I got the other places figured out. Nothing like wasting time trying to figure out a place to park in an unfamiliar place.
