I have searched and read most of what there is on this subjut. I understand what causes it, but I was getting the error 2 on the camara this morning while I was experimenting, so I took it out to down load it and I went to reformat it in the comp , it appears to get 2/3 to 3/4 of the way done and then says "sorry, it cant be formatted" I am now afraid to put it back in the camara to format it, I dont want anything else messing up. Ive already had a 4G loose over half the images on it and had to have a friend burn me a CD with the images that we luckily had dwld onto her comp first. Luckily the card in question is only 1G and about a year old. Is that the life expectancy of a card these days?

Ps i realized taht I already had most of the images off the card and the rest were just experimenting so I told the comp to erase the images after download, could that have anything to do with why it wont format?
