Had a meeting with a local freebee event mag (James know these guys as well) and I am now on their list of freelancers. They'll also act as non exclusive picture agent and sell my images for me.

So the Jeff Healy gig will be for them and then we're off to a cultural sports even next week.

I wouldn't say there is any money involved but it gets me published and I get some costs covered and I'll get a cut in any of my pictures they sell.

A tiny step in the right direction.

Hence why I have just ordered a nifty fifty from Amazon with next day delivery so I *should* have it tomorrow.

Hehehe - I know. It isn't like NME or Kerrang or Classic Rock Mag or anything like that but hey - it's a tiny step in the right direction.

Now, how about that coffee?

Well, considering what James is doing and how well he's geting along as a photographer, I sure hope this will help me as well. If nothing else, having the opportunity to shoot many varied things (like cheese rolling next week) will pay off on it's own by just giving me more experience.

And the nifty fifty is on it's way. "Dispatching soon" according to Amazon now and should be here before 1pm tomorrow. stupidly I set it to be delivered to the internet cafe where my office is only to just now realise it doesn't open until 11PM so my guess is I will be here before that just so I don't miss the delivery.

Cheese rolling? That's grrreeat!!... It's gotta be some fun to see that done...

Often, my delivery company will leave it for me knowing I'm always around to pick the delivery up within minutes thereafter... But it's best to receive it in person... My choice is usually a delivery to the Post Office... Provided the shipper is willing to do it that way...

Amazon offers such good price comparisons, that it makes it fun to use their services... Now if only the local garden nursery would sell "Money" trees... I'd gladly plant a few in the yard...

Hey, I don't want to know what SHE has in mind for James! James came on here as a kid and now acts like an adult and many of us are watching out for him, SHE, so be kind! :-)

Well, SHE just jumped through hoops to get the 50mm lens today... Had to drive to the depot to pick it up after her delivery went next door and got turned around... So you all go easy on her.

HAHAHA
Next door didn't turn them around. Next door has been shut for months!

4 hrs sleep just to sit and wait for nothing and then drive and get the dang thing - however - I love it. Probably off to a pub with live bands (hope they have bands on tonight) to play with it tonight.

And I will be gentle with James. :-P

I know about equipment problems. I blew up a $3400 Bowens QUADX 3000 WS power pack yesterday in the middle of a shoot, drove 50 miles to try to buy a replacement, the girl at the Calumet store didn't have one or know what to do, her senior was outside crying about a family crisis and I had to wait for her to recover to turn in the old one (electrical short protecting the two fuses that were still pristine!) and ask to have one brought in from Santa Ana on Monday, sigh. Then back to the casino while on the cell explaining to everyone about the problems and issues. At this point I can no longer recomment Bowens ... this unit probably hasn't been fired 3000 times and was on about 1/2 power or less for around 200-300 frames ... just over the three year warranty! I will be asking over in the lighting forum before I buy anything more but I'm afraid that I will be postponing my 1DMark III for a few more months than originally planned, sigh.

But I have shot about 3000 frames of little ballerinas in the last four days and they have melted my heart and made streams of wet on my cheeks!
