I think I would rather keep my 400d in my hands.
Ha you would want arms like a gorilla to hold that out there with a dslr and decent lens on it.

My speakers were up fairly loud from listening to music earlier, and the "LET'S TALK ABOUT QUICKPOD!" as soon as I clicked the link almost made me jump out of my skin. :(

That's too eccentric for me.

I've been using my monopod and cable release to do more or less the same as the 'Shoot above crowds' pic shows.

Same here :P

Funny part in that promotion video is where the woman says something like "I always feel emberassed when I have to ask someone to take a picture from me", while this looks sooooooo lame :P

Think this is good for some myspace whores, but I really doubt this is gonna be a success :P

Where's the thread by the guy that was complaining that the XTi and kit lens were too heavy? He'd love this thing...

i wonder if you can "flick" it open like an expandable police baton
might work well as a "camera retention device" "no officer its not a baton, its my quickpod camera support device"

It's one of those quirky things that someone thought up and will probably make a good buck from, even though it's not very useful. As she said, a great stocking stuffer, meaning something interesting you can buy someone for christmas when you can't think of anything really good to buy.

I can just imagine the production line.. "Aw crap, we put the screw mount on the wrong end on these monopods!"

I guess its a reasonable idea for the P&S crowd. Probably won't be too popular though as the whole point in a P&S is its small and light. Do you really want to weigh it down with extra accessories?
