May 18, 2007 17:31 | #7 The only different Mitch is I am doing my best to get closer... It is my understanding that the early 1D using a CCD at 1.3X instead of the Cmos at 1.6x have fewer pixels but they are larger in surface area, so they absorb more per pixel..Kind of like comparing apples to oranges in shear pixel counting... The 1D doesn't do under exposing well without noise and so I am also trying to be sure I don't do that... The 1D is an amazing piece of gear... Definitely deserves the pro rating it gets, even if it is the older version... Thanks again Mitch.... You really should consider the trade off from 30D to 1D if you want to snap to focus, and go for the action shooting... 45 focus points instead of 11 makes a massive difference in the in flight keeper rate... I honestly think the 1D hits focus more accurately, and this is why my 100-400 is now able to be sharp wide open instead of having to be closed down to f8 with my 20D's.... Take care brother....
