I was lucky enough to find a House Wren pair and their nest the other day. They are a little skittish with me being only 15 feet away, but they tolerated me.

I was lucky enough to find their nesting hole and was able to set up pretty close. I've got a popup hide coming Monday, so with any luck, I will be able to document their progress and maybe get some baby pics in a couple weeks. I don't want to stress them out by going there again til I can hide from them though. :)

Good idea, it is a lot easier to get a continuing series from a hide and take it slow. Give up a shot to get hundreds.

Good pictorial document, Mitch, of that elusive birdie.
Looking forward to some more.

Thanks guys. I have been hunting this bird since last summer, so to me, I've struck gold. I'll certainly be getting some more shots since I favor the little guys. :)

I think you are going to have fun with that hide. These very tiny birds are very photogenic. Lucky you to know where they live:D

Awesome job, showing this awesome house decorator! I have some similar shots I just took at work where a House Wren is making a nest in a crack in a magnolia tree. Such a lovely active little bird with a pretty song.

Thanks Downy. They are sweet little birds that I have a soft spot for. :)

Thanks Gary. It'll be here Monday. I hope it's waterproof, cause we got a week of rain coming. They were bringing in stuff for the nest, so I guess there should be at least a couple weeks of leeway before they hatch eggs. :)

Thanks Bob. They are a nice little bird and they also love to sing. They always announce when they come back home. :)
