SO I waited another hour and he flew past down the river :( so i thought thats it im off home packed up got in the car and started driveng home along the river bank 1 mile down the road the Herron was sat on the bank :)
i slowed down and stoped and yet again he flew off over a hedge,
i thought i will waite a little while, then i heard a child making lots of noise and wonderd if he would scare the Herron over to my side HE DID :D

I love #1...300 2.8 with a 2xTC is impressive in this photo.

Great shots! Your story is a familiar one--except that nothing has ever scared them toward ME. They're always flying away from me! You took excellent advantage of a great opportunity here. I can't pick a fav--both rock!

i have the 400d and thats the same as the 30d i think its the same as the 5d or there is so little in it that a bit of luck with the BIF either way will balence it out -on this shot the x2 tc will have made af a little slow indeed 4 out of the 6 shot's like this were OOF .
the IQ on the 5d is well worth having thats for sure and should one get a almost FF as this shot it does make it worth having.
