Just saw this thread. Wish I could come, but I work over the weekend. If you ever do anything during the week I'd love to join in on the fun

phocal - I am finally off the crutches and walking on my own. (I was on crutches for 10 months! I broke my leg in the same spot two times in a row.)

I am a little slow, but I can walk ok for up to 10 minutes. That spot should be fine. Thanks.

Hey, glad you found us! Come by for lunch if your work will let you. We'll figure something out for a meet with you in the future.

uh, linkzi, i marked the spot on the map as an approximation as far as where we set up. do you know of any reason why we can't put up canopies and bbq in that area? if we can't, can you suggest another spot that would fit our needs?

i know it's a relatively long walk from the parking lot, so if you say the word, let's move to a better spot that you might know of?

justleeza, sorry to hear you can't make it to the zoo/bbq meet. as linkzi mentioned, we'll find a way to include you in one of our meet-up's.

vftt, wow, 10 months! that's some major damage you just recovered from. i hope the walk from the parking lot to the bbq site doesn't re-injure your leg.

Are you trying to increase your post count or you getting too old that you have keep repeating yourself I'm bringing a hand truck and/or a wagon to help with the distance. It's alot of trips.

ok, the bbq/zoo shoot looks to be shaping up nicely.

might be doubly good for me 'cause the long range surf forecast predicts south shore swell around then. small, but eh, better than flatness.

chris, i remember you told me you like to shoot boogieboarding action. i'm pretty sure you already know it, but the ewa side off of magic island has good short range boogie boarding action when the surf is pumping. wanna go that side for a few shutter clicks after the meal and cleanup? the only drawback is the sun will be facing us whereas on the waikiki side of magic island the sun will be behind us if we shoot bowls.

linkzi, is your 30d gonna show up in time for the bbq? would be a crying shame if it came just a few days later.

if it comes in time, make sure to leave the user manual at home to challenge yourself. remember the golden rule: "the owner of said device shall read the operater's manual only as a last resort."

i wanna see what that that thing can do with a 100-400 and 1.4 tc hanging off of it. 5 fps is pretty fast. do you have the spec. on how many shots you can burst in raw with your soon to arrive 30d?

btw, i'm thinking of joining the professional photographers of hawaii. i got an invite to their last meeting but couldn't go. i'll probably go to the next one though. anybody else wanna keep me company? i don't do well in strange crowds. i tend to get either very quiet or try too hard to make small talk and end up doing a tap dance on my tongue trying to act like i'm somebody.:p

They did not ship my 30D until this past Friday so I am hoping to see it next week. A 30D review is HERE.

well guys it looks not Im not goin got be able to make it, I have a wedding @ 1pm. I will show up and bring a salad bu I wont be able to stay will someone have a cooler to keep the salad cool until time to eat?

Ahh, too bad dude...I know you were wanting this the most. You do not need to bring anything because we still have others coming in. I'm glad your getting some business with your equipment and stop by anytime during the day. Don't worry about bringing anything. Have fun shooting the wedding and let us know how it went!
