Ok...tomorrow is the BBQ day!!.

Plans so far:

0700 Phocalphobe and Linkzi will be at Magic Island.

0845-0900 Honolulu Zoo shooters meet at the zoo entrance. Look for Canon equipment  We generally wait 10 minutes after showtime before we start the shoot. So...If your not at the zoo at 0910, the shooters will start without you.

1030 Start cooking

1200 Kaukau

1300-Sunset. ?????

I had some time to kill downtown today, so I went to Magic Island and saw a huge stage set-up on the sand right at the beginning of the parking lot. On Memorial Day, they will launch the lantern ceremony. Shouldn't be a problem tomorrow, but the stage is impressive.

Phocalphobe - We actually have room betwenn the sidewalk and the stone wall facing Bowls to set up our canopies.

Please inform us if you plan to shoot at the zoo. It will help alot for the shooters to know the exact headcount so they can start when everyones there.

For some reason I thought you guys were setting up by the zoo

Sorry if things got confusing. The first page explained the plan from the beginning and a Google map was posted for the location later. I should have given you my cell number in case something like this happens again.

The BBQ was great, thanks to everyone for coming. It was a good time and I always learn alot from everyone. I will post a link on the Travel & Landscapes photo sharing section as soon as I process a photo.

Thank you Wendo for letting us sample all of your lenses :D and planting our spot. Darren and Mike, glad to meet both of you and thanks for bringing the food. Louis thanks for bringing the food and for cooking.

The BBQ started very smoothly. Nice normal tradewinds on a clear day. We set up two canopy pop-up shelters and started relaxing after the multiple times we went back and forth to the parking lot to unload our stuff. As we were watching the boats, surfers, joggers, etc., the winds started picking up and blew so hard that it bent Phocalphobe's canopy. We attempted to fix it but it bent the frame so bad we decided to take it down. Now Phocalphobe's canopy is down, my canopy starts taking the full blasting of the wind. Just like Phocalphobes canopy, my canopy bends at the same area and distroys the frame. This is when VFTT shows up and wonders what the heck we're doing. We relocated our stuff under a tree and stayed put. So we start the grill a little later than planned because of the first incident. Now the grill burns a little slower because the wind was so strong, it would not store the heat properly. What a great time we had through all of those misfortunes. In the end all the food was cooked and we had way too much food.

Aloha!

Aloha,
Lincoln

Thanks! I added a link in my signature to help you guys find my gallery.

Hopefully I can keep from breaking my leg again and I can add some more photos to it. :)
