Wow! Excellent shots Gary! I photographed a couple of tree swallows last week in the same 'pose' but they were in the shade and the shots weren't nearly as nice as yours. WTG!

nice capture. it just needs a little more light for details on the head

Thanks for the critique and I might try a little dodging on a couple to see if I can reveal some details without adding noise. I have yet to try CS3 on the raw conversion of these and relied on DPP which I like. I appreciate the constructive suggestion.

londejust fantastic Gary!!!! the 4th one is just amazing!!!]

Thanks Snir and it is my favourite in the group and the only one I decided to print.

dancinecGreat series Gary, but you are focusing on the wrong end. Got to catch the cloacal kiss  . That look from the female is the result of pulling her head back. Well done.

:D I will try that next year Dennis;) I think they are done for this year,,,at least this group. I did hear and then see a couple mating high up in the trees yesterday in a wooded area about 10 miles from this spot.

And thanks also to gary, Chris, Mitch, Jason, Bob, tote, Wayne, downyup, Stephen, Karen, Brandon and Dennis for the great feedback:D ,,,and here is a backlit pano of a male coming in to commence the mating. Too bad about the OOF female and this image was at +2 exposure comp and flash was used as well and still had to increase the exposure by two stops in Raw to TIFF conversion....thanks again:D
