Rose Breasted Grosbeak ( female 800 iso )

Playing around in the rain today and this beauty posed for me. I am quite pleased with the results given the low light and high iso . It is a full frame shot @ 300mm, 1/400, f 4.0 at iso 800. Thanks for looking.

Looks good Chris especially for 800 ISO. The female of this species is really quite striking and you have a nice pose here.

Really nice shots. I was hunting the male of the species all morning...no luck. But I came across a female that decided to pose for me in between several bushes. I grabbed some shots at 800 ISO with the 400 but they do not come anywhere near the crispness of your shots. Really...very nice work.

Very sharp, lovely picture. The males always get the attention, but the female RBG is a gorgeous bird.

One should not shy away from ISO800 when needed, and this shot shows why. That's a pretty neat velvety texture on the perch...

I perfer cloudy days as it eliminates most of the hot spots. Rainy days are more difficult. This is excellent, Chris! --Rick
