I think these are Goldfinches, but I'm very new at learning birds.

Yep Kenny that be a Goldfinch!

The first image shows the colors very well but could be a bit clearer. I like the one on the right but wish it was a little bigger. I am curious about the background. It looks like gathering nesting materials.

Keep on shooting. It will all come together. :)

Thanks guys. I definitely need a longer lens :) I wish they were clearer too. :) These are with the 70-200. Yes the one gathering nesting material is on a broken tree trunk.

The first is definately a Goldfinch but, the second shot looks like a female orchard oriole or possibly a female baltimore to me .
