Just bought the G2 and took some pics...

I have installed the software but I cannot get the software to recognize the camera! Each time I click on the camera icon, it displays "connecting to camera" at the bottom left corner and just hangs there...

I have tried uninstalling and re installing to no avail!

Now I have a flash card full of pics but cannot get it to my PC!

Please help!

Thanks

Re-read the instructions and make sure everything is connected properly and the camera is plugged into a AC power source. If all else fails, buy a CF card reader that plugs into the USB port of your computer. They are inexpensive and are recognized by your PC as just another drive. It makes uploading photos real easy since you don't have to fiddle around hooking up and plugging in your camera. Good luck.

Do you know if the USB port is working on your PC, you may need to enable it in the PC Bios if not done already. Old versions (win95 / winnt) will not be able to use USB at all without upgrading.

The camera must be in view mode for file transfer to take place...

This may seem a silly question, but have to ask just incase. You do have the power turned of for the camera yes?

Also, make sure all the necessary software is installed. Sometimes I do notice that if I have the camera hooked up before the computer is loaded, it won't auto detect it. Kinda odd. I generally wait till after everything is loaded, then plug in the camera, switch the power on, then when I hear the chime telling me that the camera has been found, it opens up a window asking me what software I would like to load to view the pictures.
