Hi guys,
I turn the camera on and instead of being able to see the image on the viewing screen, i am now suddenly met with a lovely pink and white half screen? All other functions work, except for taking pictures. The image , after i click the shutter( and which i can't see through the screen to focus on anyway) comes out black?? I have run through the menu and all the display options, but no luck in fixing it. Is this a shutter problem? Or am I just stupid and have I changed a setting I didn't know existed? I have taken about 2000 pictures over the past year without any problem. Could this be the date battery? cheers and Happy Thursday everyone!

do you dare opening it up?

you probably bumped it? ?!

behind the rear cover is a connector that probably got open by bumping the cam.
this connector is from your ccd, so if you open it up and close the connector it should work again

there are some posts here on opening up an A40 so good luck :P

thanks Dutch dude. I am not that technically minded however. It is still under warrenty so I guess i have to take it in and wait 2 months to get it back! I was hoping .I may have just set a wrong menu or something, but it doesnt sound like it.
