My Girlfriend's Powershot A70 has served us well for a couple of years but I went to use it today while we were out and as soon as I took the first couple of photos I realised something was wrong. I worked fine last week but now all I get is photo's similar to the one below which is a picture of my rear garden.
The lens looks clean and tidy and old photo's look fine on the LCD so I'm assuming that it's the CCD.

Does this look like the CCD is broken or does anyone have any other ideas?

Check the sticky at the top of this forum on the Canon Service Notice. Looks like what you've got there.

Cheers for that John, I don't normally go into this section of the forum as I use my 350D. As I came in to see if anyone had replied I noticed the sticky.

Will have to phone them tomorrow as it doesn't look like you can email Canon UK.

Thanks again,

How did you get on Brian?
I've just got the same problem with my A70.
Which service centre did you use? I contacted Lehmanns , Stoke-on-Trent, I'm waiting for a reply.

Thanks
Dave
