Osprey in the rain

Got sick of watching the rain and went out to build a blind. On the way past the Osprey nest I noticed this one perched not far from the nest. After snapping a bunch of pics, this one let out a few calls, the Osprey on the nest answered and promptly left the nest. This one then circled and landed for its turn at incubation.
The one that left the nest circled and soon was joined by a third Osprey, which didnt seem to bother either of the mated pair, even when it flew over the nest. Maybe last years hatch? just interesting behavior I thought I'd share. The Osprey on the nest put the run to two gulls that came near not long after the third Osprey went by.

Thanks Peter ! LOL @ giant pencil. The perch is one of two that are attached to the top of a powerline pole to keep the Ospreys from nesting on it, the power company installed a nest pole with a pallet platform 20 feet away to give the Ospreys another option, which they use every year.
