I was phtographing this species yesterday and found them to be very busy and alsmost unaware of my presence if I stayed still. A great little Warbler and we are fortunate to have them. A ble sky in the background often means for me a total loss of contrast--not here, though! ...alas I've been too busy this month. The first is the male - taken in sweet pre-sunset light and on a "clean" perch. The second is the female taken about 30 minutes earlier - although the shot is more cluttered and "messy" it is much closer to what we usually see (deep in a thicket) and I like it for that reason. I was just lucky she came down to eye level.
