I generally wouldn't bump something if it involved only one dealer, but B&H has lowered their price to $1449 and so has Adorama. Perhaps a little welcome price pressure from the D70.

And about 1400 at Canoga Camera. All these are "click for our price" deals. Also, confirmed the $1300 OneCall price. Interesting development.

Was at my local photographer to pick up a 77mm polarizer the other day, and he tried all the time to push me into buying a D70. He even "forced" me into holding and firing shots with the n*kon beast. Felt like a toy compared to my 10D. Small, light (probably because of the "toy"-lens on it), and the "rubber"-grip was nothing like the grip of the 10D. He wen't on an on about how many he had sold, and how it beat 10D in almost every aspect..... so... could I have my polarizer now? The photogs probably like small/light equipment, but for me new to SLR's, where "My camera+lens is bigger than yours, ergo, I got the biggest dick" it sure felt like a toy

Heck, the 10D is a solid camera. Well built, it functions well, and I'm not too anxious to trade away my magnesium alloy body any time soon.

Personally, I'd not trade it for the D70 even if I could replace lenses cost-free 1 for 1. I've really been impressed with the 10D and I'm starting to get really comfortable with it - as comfortable as I was with the old FT.

As for the photogs - they don't want small and light, they want sturdy and functional, like the 1D Mk II.

This price drop might be related to the Nikon, or it might be a glimpse into Canon's future plans. ;)

(I love starting rumours)
