Yesterday me and my roommate went down to the Reifel Bird Sanctuary and this guy kinda stood out of the crowd.

An older man with a stroller, maybe he is on a trip with his grandkids?

Nah the guy just has all his photogear with him ;) Gave me a good laugh.

Pretty smart, I think, especially if you have the stroller and want to take lots of gear with you...

Holy crap I gotta do that. I'm tired of lugging gear for kms in bird trails.

See any fowl? I've come up empty handed lately.

Generalizations are stupid.

I did that with my stuff at Disney when my nephew was walking on his own or being carried by someone. Why carry it on your back if you don't have to?

PS: What crowd? ;)

I fail to see the reasoning for the shot at a fellow photographer just because he happens to use a different brand. Perhaps it could be labelled Are Nikon Shooters smarter than Canon Shooters! The man was using his head. I have bought several different sized bags with wheels that makes lugging stuff around alot easier.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

The whole idea with the post was that for me this is funny. Walking around on a path to see birds like you are in a shopping mall is to me absurd. I´m from a place that you have to hike trails, climb and sit for hours to see a couple of birds.
So if he had a Canon, Sigma, whatever brand this would have been just as funny to me. It just happened to be a Nikon shooter and I thought maybe someone other than me found it funny.. If it offends someone please get a moderator to delete the thread.

When your knees are as bad as mine and your elbow can't carry a 300 2.8 for long, a stroller or pram looks good!

Looks like a pretty smart idea to me. I have an extra stroller around here for my granddaughter - maybe it will see some use as an equipment cart this summer. :)

Now if I walked through the door with a brand new MKIII, my wife would kill me.

But if I were to walk through the door with a brand new STROLLER, it'll kill my wife.
    :)
WTB: DOUBLE Stroller - ANY CONDITION! - ANY PRICE!! URGENT!!!

I don't know, on the surface it looks like the epitome of laziness. But it isn't a bad idea for us relatively healthy folks.

And if the guy has knee or back troubles, then this is a decidedly good idea. If you've ever had your lower back falter, you'd appreciate any help you can get in terms of reducing the strain in that region.

I don't really agree ;) Subject should actually be "Are some shooters (Nikon AND Canon) smarter then the others (Nikon AND Canon)" :) I never understood people carrying all their equipment with them. You go out shooting so you take stuff which you need with you. I don't carry 300 or 400mm lens to basketball match, just as I don't carry 14-70 and 28-70 with me to alpine skiing race. You pick stuff which you need.
And no, being Canon or Nikon shooter doesn't make any difference. I have seen many Canon and many Nikon shooters bringing everything they have on basketball match, while on the other side big majority of both (Nikon and Canon) shooters don't need huge trunk to bring their equipment to specific event. :)
