I have installed DPP and also downloaded the update version from Canon. Any ideas why when I run the updater I get a error after I select it to update the currently installed version?

Thank you
Raff

No idea. You could try downloading again? I've had the problem once, and that solved it. Maybe the DL was somehow corrupted....

What is the error message that you get?

I have tried downloading a few times now and have also reinstalled DPP itself.

After opening the 'update installer' you choose the language and then agree to the terms. After that it brings up a box to say it has found a version of DPP and gives the option of updating in the same folder or elsewhere, I select the same folder and then it starts. After about five seconds it comes up saying 'an error has occured' and shows the installer icon.

edit: I should add that I have only been a Mac user for a couple of days so I may be doing something wrong, I simply dowload the update from the Canon site and a update installer box appears when done and a file named k7405mux.dmg appears in the desktop (this seems to do nothing? what is dmg?) I open the update installer and it runs through the process mentioned in the above text.

That's strange. Try installing in a new folder and see if that works. Next would be to email Canon - they're usually very responsive; frequently the same day.

DMG is a disk image file. Double-click on it and you should have a virtual hard disk show up on your desktop. Double-click it to open it and then see what files are in there. Probably is your updater?

It was actually asking if the version of DPP it had found was the correct one and if not where the right folder location was, so had to stick with saying 'yes' it was the correct location.

Yes I'm waiting for Canon to get back to me, I was advised it could be over the next two days...its not the end of the world using version 2.2 as it works fine but I am curious as to why the update will not install.
