Thanks to all. #3 is my favorite as well.
I read an article in the dentist's office the other day about a woman who started putting three whole peanuts on her windowsill. Shortly thereafter a Bluejay appeared, and to make a very long story short, she has been having generations of Bluejay come to her window.
So, I put some whole peanuts in a tree near my feeder, and whaddya know, a Bluejay appears, then two, maybe three. Then, I moved a suet feeder to the pole you see in #1, and still leave some peanuts in the tree. Each day, like clockwork, around 5:00 PM, I can count on the jays arriving for their peanuts. I began stuffing peanuts in the suet feeder (along with the suet) and the jays will eat the suet, but peanuts are their first choice.
Once they were comfortable coming to the tree and feeder, I thought it'd be time to take some pics.
