I click on that button and it shows basic camera stats, from the 10D, but it also shows a color space "(as shot)".

The image still contains a color space embedded in EXIF. But you are not locked into a color space as you can select your color space during conversion. The thumbnail displayed on your camera is always sRGB though, no matter what space you have assigned in camera. Mike, The Keeper of the Archive

oh sure. ok, i'll bet it comes from the embedded jpg within the raw file.
