Im looking for a new PC i have a pos del p3 right now. I would like something with good graphics and somethign rather quick. I know NOTHING about building comps so prefer something "out of box" direct from the manufacturer. I have all the accessories already, monitoer, mouce and keyboard. I know its kind of vague so thanx in advance.

For photo work, go core 2 duo or equivalent, plus 2 gigs of RAM. Most new computers today have perfectly adequeate video capabilities for photo processing, so that's probably not a major issue for most users.

No idea - I'm a Mac guy. Dell's been struggling lately. Some financial irregularities and depressed sales.

Any of the big names will be fine. Here is a search of available products from Newegg (external link) using dual core, 2GB + of RAM as the basis.

From what I know, all manufacturers of PC's get their components from other sources (hard drives, processors, DVD/CD burners, etc.). Ultimately, they should all be very similar.

I just got a Gateway laptop at best buy with 2 gigs of RAM and Intel Core Duo processor for around $1,000. I love the machine so far. From what I've seen, their desktops are also well equipped and reasonably priced. The only issue I have with buying off-the-shelf is that they come pre-loaded with a bunch of junk.

Just stay away from DhELL for the time being as like pointed out they aren't in the beat of business shape currently.

HP pretty much has got the market share right now and will for the foreseeable future. You'll get better support from them and go Core 2 Duo, that fastest your budget will allow.

If you don't mind waiting a bit try watching www.slickdeals.net (external link) ... some pretty solid deals show up on there for PCs.
