I used MPIX for the first time this past week. I received my photos and the colors were extremley warm and did not match well at all in compasison to my monitor and many more monitors where I work (some were laptops and some were LCD's). I am not saying this is MPIX's fault or my fault because I do not know.

I took the pictures using Large JPEG. Opened the images in PS CS2. I change the Brightness and Contrast a bit, sharpened the images and cropped to 4x6. I then uploaded them to the MPIX website and ordered.

I sent an email to MPIX asking what might be the problem and how could I correct and they suggested that all pictures be uploaded in sRGB and I use their ICC printer profile.

Have any of you expereinced this problem and were you able to correct or have all of your images been this way from them?

Thanks
JB

Is your moniutor calibrated? That's the FIRST place to start. Saying that you've looked at your image on several monitors doesn't necessarily mean anything. When I got my Spyder2, I found that all my monitors were off in just about the same way, and at nearly the same levels. In other words, I had multiple monitors giving me similar results and they were all wrong!

Secondly, download their printer profiles, and "soft proof" in PS, using their profiles. You can search for soft proofing tutorials, and get plenty of info on how it's done, etc.

Good luck!

Robert Lay has a great tutorial on soft proofing. You can find it here:
