They are all great photos, but I really think that the woody is a fantastic shot.

Thank you Deb and Mark. The woody was the most difficult to capture as it is the most sketish. These were taken this morning in my backyard from my tent blind. --Rick

All are great photos but the woodpecker gets my vote...excellent!! I wish this species would come just a little north of it's range:D

I am going to disagree with the popular consensus. I agree that the shot of the woodpecker is fantastic. But, I think the shot of the cowbird is exceptional. It is probably one of the nicest shots I have ever seen of this often ignored beauty. There is a certain sense of serenity and grandeur to this capture and you deserve our applause.

That's a Red-Bellied Woodpecker, and a very nice shot. He loves peanuts by the way, maybe more than Blue Jays do. :)

I also like the cowbird. I can't resist taking their pictures and they show up here a dozen times a day. They are a really well behaved birds except for that one bad habit.

Well slap me upside the head and call me stupid. You are, of course, correct. Thanks, Mitch.
Also thanks to Gary and Cooper for your comments. --Rick

Great shots Rick. The poses in all of them are really nice, but I especially like the way the chipping sparrow is posed.

Thank you Mary and Shirley. It always amazes me how far birds can turn their heads and the position they get their bodies in. They are one of Nature's finest inventions. --Rick
