I‘ve a strange questions about the use of the Canon CP-E Battery Pack. How do others attach / hold the pack when shooting ? I do a lot of bicycle race photos and quick movement (dodging and ducking) are sometimes required and the less dangling off me the better.

Currently, I have a nylon sleeve for the pack which I attach with velcro on to camera strap and then run the cord to the flash. While this works (sort-of) the added weight causes the strap to droop / sag. This seems to get in the way after a couple of hours, but it keeps the whole apparatus in one controllable place.

I know I can slip the pack into a pocket, but then I’m limited in the movement of the camera in relationship the batter pack. There is a hole that seems to line-up with the tripod mounting screw hole of a D series body. Can you attach the pack to the bottom of the camera without breaking anything ?

Thanks for your time.
Rick

I believe the owners manual recommends not mounting directly to the body unless you have at battery grip in between due to the possibility of some kind of interference w/ the camera....plus it makes for a heavy rig to lift to your eye all day.

Just put it in your shirt pocket, or clip it onto your belt... The belt is the most comfortable for me...

Slip it into a fanny pack. That's what I do with my Quantum Turbo Compact.
