Tried a portrait crop here, not sure I like it.

And last but not least, what I call the "missed" shot of the day. Had everything lined up perfect. He had his crown up, had head tilted to the side, good catch-light. Then, just as I was about to fire the shot, he dropped his crown and looked straight at the camera!

All are well done. Guess the meter ran out and there were no black sun flower seeds for payment on the last one. The portrait is a keeper. Thanks for sharing them.

Great shots Bob. I'd like to know what the signals mean. I'm always impressed with how much control they have over that thing, even the females. :)

What a gorgeous bird. I love them all, even the last. I don't know how many times I've got a shot like that, but it kind of shows their personality.
