Mixed Breed Duck? and Another goose shot

Found this 1st guy on a pond in Kansas. My guess is that he is a mix between a mallard and a domestic duck??? Comments and suggestions always appreciated!

The second is another goose face not cropped quite so close.

Hey Mom, great duck shot. Not sure what it is, but it's pretty and looks friendly. The goose looks like he's gonna stick his head out and peck me.

Can`t help with the ID of the duck, but you are probably right. Nice shots though. The goose must have been quite scary to get close to, I know at the park near me, when they have young, they hiss at anything that comes within 2 meters of them.

Thanks everyone, this goose let me get fairly close. I checked the area for nests before approaching slowly and then I just kneeled down and started shooting. I think it got curious because it actually moved closer to me.

As for the duck...he was hanging out in a lake with a bunch of wild mallards and seemed to think he was one of them. I just thought he was pretty and unique.
